The Shadow AI Risk Assessment is an educational resource designed to help you think about shadow AI exposure. Your results are indicative, not authoritative. They are not a substitute for a professional security assessment, legal counsel, or compliance review.

  • Your score reflects your self-reported responses. Its accuracy depends entirely on the accuracy of those responses.

Dollar exposure estimates

The dollar-exposure ranges shown in your results are editorial probability estimates, not actuarial calculations. They are derived by applying illustrative probability ranges to the IBM 2025 Cost of a Data Breach Report's $670,000 shadow AI breach premium figure.

These estimates are intended to contextualize risk in financial terms. They are not predictions of your organization's actual breach costs and should not be used as such. For actuarial risk quantification, consult a qualified cyber risk professional or insurer.

Data sources and citations

Statistics cited in this tool are sourced from the IBM 2025 Cost of a Data Breach Report (published July 2025) and the Software AG 2024 study. These are third-party reports; we make no warranty regarding their accuracy or continued availability. Cited statistics may change as new research is published.
